St Bega’s Primary School is celebrating a successful and inspiring Year 6 Careers Day, where pupils had the opportunity to explore a wide range of future pathways and ambitions. The event gave children valuable insight into different professions, as they met visiting speakers who shared their personal journeys and experiences. From the creative industries to public services and beyond, pupils were introduced to a variety of exciting possibilities for the future.
Year 3 Pupils Inspired During Exciting Careers Day
Year 3 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic Careers Day, filled with inspiration, curiosity, and exciting discoveries about the world of work. Throughout the day, the children met a range of inspiring visitors, each sharing their experiences of different jobs and career journeys. The sessions gave pupils a valuable introduction to the many opportunities available to them in the future.
Year 1 Explore Van Gogh Through Landscape Art
Year 1 pupils at St Bega’s have been developing their creativity this week by creating their own Vincent Van Gogh-inspired landscape paintings. As part of their art learning, the children explored the work of the famous artist, gaining an understanding of his distinctive style and approach to painting.
Year 6 Pupils Praised for Confidence and Respect
Year 6 pupils at St Bega’s have been recognised for their outstanding behaviour and knowledge from a school visiting the Headland, praising a group of pupils for the way they represented St Bega’s.
After School Netball Fun at St Bega’s
Our After School Netball Club is in full swing, and it’s fantastic to see how much the children are enjoying it! From developing new skills to working together as a team, everyone is growing in confidence with each session. Most importantly, there are plenty of smiles as the children have lots of fun along the way.
Year 1 Explore Materials in Science
This week in Science, our Year 1 children have been busy comparing different objects, materials and their properties! The children worked thoughtfully to group materials, considering their properties and deciding how best to sort them. They used a range of scientific vocabulary to describe what they observed and gave clear reasons for their choices.
Coding with Micro:Bits in Year 4/5
Last week, our Year 4/5 class enjoyed an exciting visit from Mr Bailey, who introduced the children to coding using Micro:Bits alongside our Purple Mash programme. The session was highly interactive, allowing pupils to get hands-on with programming and see their code come to life. The children showed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored how to create and test their own projects.
Well Done, Year 6!
A huge well done to our hardworking Year 6 children for completing their SATs with such resilience and good humour. Each and every one of them gave 110%, showing determination, positivity and a fantastic attitude throughout the week. We truly could not be any prouder of their efforts and achievements!
Celebrating Sir David Attenborough at 100
This week, our Year 4 and Year 5 pupils have been learning all about the incredible life and work of Sir David Attenborough as he celebrates his 100th birthday. As part of their learning, the children carried out research and created detailed fact files, discovering fascinating information about his achievements, his passion for wildlife and his dedication to protecting our planet.
Puzzle & Play Club: Fun, Creativity and Teamwork
Our KS1 children have been having a fantastic time at Puzzle and Play Club, where learning and fun go hand in hand! From tackling jigsaw puzzles to exploring building challenges and engaging in imaginative games, pupils have been developing their problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork in an enjoyable and supportive environment.
Bega’s Beauty Salon Officially Opens!
Excitement has been building in Early Years at St Bega’s as Bega’s Beauty Salon is now officially open for business! Our Early Years children have been having a fantastic time exploring the salon, using their imagination and role-play skills to brush, style and pamper. The space has quickly become a hub of creativity, where children are developing communication, confidence and teamwork while enjoying their play.
