Welcome to St Bega’s Catholic Primary School

St Bega’s is a vibrant, happy school that provides a nurturing learning environment that inspires academic excellence for all our pupils. Children have a positive attitude and enjoy learning. We celebrate the successes of our children and offer support and encouragement to allow them all to develop into responsible and resilient citizens.

As a Catholic school, our mission statement, ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ embodies Jesus’ message that we are all unique in the eyes of God. Actively showing love for each other and our world mirrors the values and teachings of Jesus. Children at St Bega’s are inspired by Christ and demonstrate this using our school character traits of confidence, compassion, resilience, responsibility, honesty, self-belief, justice and respect.

Our curriculum is relevant, cumulative and ambitious. It provides opportunities for children to discover knowledge, deepen understanding, revisit prior learning and draw on new experiences that they will have at St Bega’s. We can enhance children’s education with wider curriculum opportunities that will expand their social experiences and allow the children to become active members of their local, national and global community.

Staff at St Bega’s have an abundance of community spirit and have an excellent work ethic, with the children at the heart of everything we do. All staff members are passionate and enthusiastic role models who lead by example in their own commitment to lifelong learning. We actively encourage our children to aspire to greatness and have high expectations of themselves to prepare them for the working world. We aim to provide high quality education whilst fostering a love of learning that encourages the children to grow in their faith and knowledge.

St Bega’s is supported by our parents, carers, governors, parish and the local community who have an active role in our school. Strong home-school links are vital to a child’s development and wellbeing. We firmly believe that parents and carers play such a strong role in their child’s education and we strive to support families to ensure our children progress and achieve.
