Our Year 1 pupils at St. Bega’s Catholic Primary School have been busy developing their gymnastics skills this week, focusing on key body shapes and movement sequences.
The children explored a range of important gymnastics shapes, including the straight, star, tuck, dish, and arch positions. They worked hard to hold each shape with control and confidence before beginning to link them together into short routines.
There was plenty of excitement as they also learned the egg roll and the wonderfully named egg‑and‑bacon roll! These fun movements helped the children build coordination, balance, and body awareness while bringing lots of smiles to the lesson.
We are so proud of how enthusiastic and focused Year 1 have been in their gymnastics learning. They are developing fantastic skills that will continue to grow as the year goes on.
