Today, the whole school came together to celebrate our local community and the wider world. At St. Bega’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool, we are proud to introduce our new and updated cohesive curriculum, designed to connect children with both their roots and global opportunities.
Our curriculum shines a spotlight on the unique historical and geographical features of the Headland, helping pupils appreciate what makes this area so special. Children explored local landmarks, learned about local heroes, and discovered why the Headland is such a wonderful place to live.
But our learning didn’t stop there. We linked these experiences to the wider world, reinforcing our school vision:
“The Headland in their hearts and the world at their feet.”
This motto reflects our commitment to nurturing children who are proud of their heritage while being prepared to thrive globally.
Through engaging activities, discussions, and creative projects, pupils celebrated the rich culture of Hartlepool and explored how their local identity connects to the global community. It was a day filled with pride, curiosity, and inspiration.
Why This Matters
At St. Bega’s, we believe that understanding where we come from is the foundation for exploring the world beyond. Our curriculum ensures that children develop a strong sense of belonging while gaining the skills and knowledge to succeed in an interconnected world.
