Intent (Why do we teach what we teach?)

The religious programme Come and See is the core RE scheme at St Bega's Catholic Primary School. Links are made with the children's own experiences and the curriculum is adapted to make it real and meaningful to our children. Through the Religious Education curriculum, we aim to support the development of religiously literate young people by providing engaging and comprehensive content which is the basis of the knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith. Through this, pupils will feel enabled to communicate their religious and theoretical understanding.

It is important to us that our children see themselves as part of a wider community. To ensure we have real and lasting experiences we study Judaism and Islam, so that children can learn about the many similarities between major world religions.

Implementation (How do we teach it?)

St Bega's Catholic Primary School uses 'Come and See' to deliver our RE curriculum.

Impact (What has been the impact and how do we know?)

Through engaging content, pupils will have an increased awareness of both Catholic faith and the traditions of other religious communities and be able to relate this to everyday life.
